SOMEONE ELSE SAID

If it can be verified, we dont need faith...Faith is for that which lies on the other

side of reason.  Faith is what makes life bearable, with all its tragedies and ambiguities

and sudden, startling joys.:

 Madeleine LEngle

CCD Teacher Profile

My name is Mary Toliver and I teach 2nd grade CCD here at St. Joseph the Worker

in room #3.  I have been teaching for 19 years and am the mother of Byron Jr. and Jessica.

I usually attend the 8:45am mass.

I teach CCD because giving back to God and the children is what my faith, school,

teachers and parents have given to me.  I enjoy teaching and giving of myself.  The

children give to me love and bring me back in touch with the reason why I am a Catholic.

I guess you can say Im reliving a part of my youth.  It completes a part of me.

My goal for my 2nd grade CCD class this year is for my students to appreciate what

they have in their faith, to learn to use their gifts of expressing their love for God and to

make them better Christians.
