Adult Gospel Choir

Celebrating more than 15 years of ministry and service, this ministry 

group consists of adults committed to spirit-filled praise and worship. 

Although versatile in musical style, the members of this group share a 

passion and love for the main musical goal of this ministry which is 

the promotion and use of African American music as a part of Catholic 

worship. Emphasis on spirituality, evangelization, leadership, service 

and fellowship help to make this a total ministry that is well known 

throughout the local and extended community. The group meets 

regularly each week on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 PM to 

9:00 PM, and provides musical leadership at the 5 PM vigil Mass.

The 8:45 Music Ministry

This music ministry serves the parish of St. Joseph the Worker 

with traditional and contemporary spirit-filled music. They have 

different instrumentalists, and vocalists volunteering their services,

ministering prayerfully as we all praise and worship our Lord 

together. Rehearsal is on Thursday evenings at 7 PM in the 

church and they sing at the 8:45 AM Mass on Sunday morning. 

Their ministry is open to other instruments and voices.

Youth Gospel Choir

A SJW Parish tradition for almost 20 years, this choir is also well 

known throughout the local community and has traveled throughout 

the United States. The choir includes youth ages 12 to the early 

twenties, who share and embrace a commitment to catholic praise 

and worship filled with unique and innovative musical adaptations. 

Striving to uphold the six values stated in our youth ministry goal, 

this group places emphasis on providing opportunities for youths 

to develop musical and leadership skills, in addition to spirituality 

and liturgical awareness. This group meets regularly on Saturday 

mornings from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and provides musical 

leadership at the 11:15 AM mass on Sundays.

Children's Choir

The members of this music ministry group include children from 

age 6 through 12 who share a love for music and singing, and a 

desire to actively participate in worship. In addition to embracing

 the values of our parish youth ministry, the group encourages 

participation in worship through musical leadership. Age 

appropriate music, prayer, and faith-sharing are a part of 

this special ministry experience which prepares children for 

musical leadership. They sing on the 4th Sunday of the month 

during the 11:15 AM mass as well as other special parish 

celebrations designed for children. The group meets twice a 

month on the Saturday before the 2nd and 4th Sundays from

 9:00 AM - 10:15 AM.

Sacred Movers Dance Ministry

Moving into its 6th year of service in our parish, this innovative 

group adds another dimension to the quality of worship for which 

our parish is known. The group includes members from ages 10

 through adults who possess a passion for prayerful liturgical 

expression through movement. The group meets seasonally as

 needed and participates during special parish celebrations and 

activities.
