YOUTH MINISTRY

 

Adult Moderator For Children's Ministry

Youth group designed for 1st through 6th grade children. Meets at the 

KPC house once a month on the weekend with youths and adult 

moderators. Meets as needed for planning (usually on a weeknight).

 

Adult Moderator For "Impact" Youth Group

"IMPACT" is a youth group designed to meet the specific needs of 

7th and 8th grade youths. Youth meet at the Knights of Peter Claver 

building twice each moth on weekends for activities. Moderators meet 

as needed for planning (usually on a weeknight).

 

Adult Moderator For "Unity" Youth Group

Youth group designed to meet the specific needs of teenagers in 9th 

through 12th grades. Moderators meet at the Knights of Peter Claver 

building twice each month with teenagers on Sunday evenings for 

activities. They meet as needed for planning (usually on a weeknight).

 

Young Adult Ministry

Ministry to parishioners who are between the ages of 18 and the 

middle 20's. Special events occur throughout the year and listed in 

the parish bulletin.

 

Adults To Coach Teenage Athletics

Ministry to teenagers fro S.J.W. who are not on varsity athletic teams

 in high schools. Coaches must possess knowledge about athletics. 

Coaches must consistently model Christian values and stress that 

competition and winning are secondary to character and integrity. 

Times will vary.

 

Adult Moderator For "Life After High School"�

Ministry to 10th, 11th, 12th graders and their parents to help them 

with college related decisions, essays, applications, questions about

 future careers, trade schools and financial-aid procedures. Two 

college tours are sponsored. Meets approximately four times per 

year as a group and by appointment as needed by students and 

their parents.

 

Adult Moderator For "Service Team"

Ministry provided by young people in 9th grade through young 

adult ages. Service team members provide service to whomever 

calls, for any reason and whenever they are called if the request 

in with in the limits of safety and their abilities. Members undergo

 in initial six week training, and they meet once per month.

 

Correspondent For "Youth Away From Home" Ministry

Ministry to young people who are away from home because of 

college, military service, jobs, incarceration. Once per month mailings 

are sent to the youth who are away to affirm and encourage them, 

to keep them informed of local community news, and to recognize 

birthdays, holidays, and special achievements. Postage and materials 

will be provided.
